As we approach the end of support for Windows 10, it’s important to stay informed about what this means for you and why you should be looking at upgrading to Windows 11 now.

Important Date: October 14, 2025

On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10, this means no more security updates, bug fixes, or technical support from Microsoft, while your Windows 10 PC’s will still function, they will become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses putting your business and data at risk.

The fastest route to keeping your PC’s and network secure is to test your current machines for compatibility with Windows 11, machines that pass the compatibility test, sometimes also needing some changes made from an IT technician, can be then upgraded to windows 11 usually without issue.

Machines that fail the Windows 11 compatibility test will generally be older machines that are approaching the end of usable life in business, it is highly recommended that you stop using machines that cannot be upgraded in October as use after this time puts your business at risk in spite of other security measures you have in place.

Windows 11 offers a similar user experience to its predecessor windows 10 and also offers:

Enhanced Security

Including built-in Encryption and data protection, to keep your information safe.

Modern Interface

Enjoy a sleek, user-friendly interface with rounded corners, a centre Start menu, and improved task management.

Built-In AI Assistance

Windows 11 includes the free version of Copilot, an AI-powered assistant that helps you navigate and optimize your system.

Improved Performance

Experience faster boot times, better battery life, and enhanced performance for work.

Updated Apps

New versions of old apps like the new Media Player, Clipchamp for video editing, and enhanced Snipping Tool for screenshots.

While on the subject of End Of Life software, Microsoft will also officially end support for Office 2016 and 2019 on October 14, 2025, continuing to use these products after this date will leave your organisation vulnerable to security threats, productivity losses and compliance issues, contact the Mooncomputers Sales Team at (sales@moon.co.it) to look into upgrading to Office 365.
